Kinder Brauchen Uns (KBU) Organization is pleased to announce the successful completion of its seven-day humanitarian cleft lip and palate surgical mission, conducted from September 20 to 27, 2026, at Atatürk Hospital in Kabul, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
During this humanitarian campaign, 67 patients, primarily children from different provinces across Afghanistan, received surgical treatment, offering them renewed hope for healthier lives and brighter futures.
The mission brought together experienced international plastic surgeons, medical specialists, and the dedicated medical team of Atatürk Hospital. Through their professionalism, commitment, and teamwork, the medical teams successfully completed the surgical procedures and provided the necessary medical care and follow-up to patients before they returned to their families.
At the conclusion of the seven-day mission, KBU presented certificates of appreciation to the participating doctors in recognition of their outstanding medical service, professional dedication, and invaluable contribution to improving the lives of children in Afghanistan.
The certificates served as a meaningful expression of gratitude for the doctors' commitment to humanitarian healthcare and their efforts to bring hope and smiles to children and their families. Their participation demonstrated the importance of international medical cooperation and collective efforts to expand access to specialized surgical care.
The successful completion of this campaign reflects KBU's continued commitment to supporting vulnerable children and improving access to essential healthcare services in Afghanistan. By working alongside local healthcare institutions and international medical professionals, KBU continues to contribute to humanitarian initiatives that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
KBU extends its sincere appreciation to all participating doctors, medical specialists, Atatürk Hospital staff, and partners who contributed to the success of this mission.
Together, we can bring hope, restore smiles, and build a healthier future for children in Afghanistan.
