Kinder Brauchen Uns (KBU) Organization is committed to supporting children who need specialized medical care and improving access to essential healthcare services in Afghanistan.
Somia, the 13-year-old daughter of Muhammad Ali, received medical treatment for osteomyelitis, a bone infection requiring specialized clinical attention.
On October 23, 2026, the treatment involved wound debridement to remove infected or damaged tissue and help manage the infection. This procedure is an important part of treatment in certain cases of osteomyelitis and may be combined with appropriate antimicrobial therapy and continued medical monitoring.
The primary treatment goal was to control and eradicate the infection, protect the affected tissues, and support Somia's recovery. Follow-up assessments are important to evaluate the response to treatment and confirm whether the infection has been fully resolved.
This case highlights the importance of timely diagnosis, specialized surgical care, and continued medical support for children facing serious bone infections.
KBU extends its sincere appreciation to the medical professionals involved in providing care to children and supporting families in need of specialized healthcare services.
